ASCAP has named a new group of industry leaders and artists to serve as panelists or perform at the 2019 “I CREATE MUSIC” EXPO, which will be held MAY 2-4 in LOS ANGELES. This year's programming will focus on collaboration, networking, mentorship and helping conference attendees reach for the next stage of their careers, as well as topics like the rise of emo rap and the global growth of Country music, with industry experts discussing the evolution of music publicity in the playlist age.
Expected highlights include WYCLEF JEAN performing as well as providing knowledge, guidance and support to EXPO attendees; TROYE SIVAN collaborator LELAND leading fellow songwriters in a cross-genre roundtable on the craft; and DESMOND CHILD hosting a master class with a set of aspiring songwriters. Also on tap: LEE ANN WOMACK and “Shallow” co-writer ANTHONY ROSSOMANDO are confirmed for the annual “We Create Music” panel, and the “ARIANA GRANDE's Songwriting Dream Team” panel features her close collaborators VICTORIA MONÉT, TOMMY BROWN and CHARLES "SCOOTIE" ANDERSON, and will be moderated by video director HANNAH LUX DAVIS.
