In addition to AGAPE BROADCASTING FOUNDATION noncommercial Variety KNON/DALLAS, which was knocked off the air and had its facilities damaged in the tornado that touched down in north DALLAS on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20th (NET NEWS 10/21), at least one other area station was affected by the storm. METRO BROADCASTING Country/Americana KHYI (THE RANGE) was in the middle of the tornado’s path and staffers have been unable to access its studios and offices ever since, according to their social media posts.

On TUESDAY (10/22), staffers shared photos of their damaged building on FACEBOOK, writing, “Have no fear, a little tornado damage can’t keep the best TEXAS/Americana music off the air. Thanks for your support.” The photos showed blown out windows in the building. The station also assured listeners on TWITTER TUESDAY that its live stream would be back up and running soon.
